RubberBond

RubberBond™ Elevate from Rubbercycle is an innovative commercial playground surfacing system designed to bring together safety, accessibility, durability, and visual appeal. Its hybrid bi-layer construction combines a shock-absorbing loose rubber base with a durable EPDM top layer, creating a surface that offers characteristics of both loose-fill and unitary playground surfacing.

The thick rubber base is engineered to maximize impact protection beneath playground equipment, while the long-wearing upper layer creates a more stable and accessible finished surface. With a total thickness of 5 inches and fall-height protection rated up to 16 feet, RubberBond Elevate can accommodate playground environments with substantial equipment heights.

The colorful EPDM particulate top layer also gives playground designers greater freedom to create an attractive finished space. The material is fade-resistant to help maintain vibrant color in sunlight, and the system can be customized to complement different playground designs, layouts, and surrounding environments.

Another significant advantage is installation flexibility. RubberBond Elevate can be installed over a variety of substrates and does not require the costly concrete or asphalt sub-base commonly associated with some unitary surfacing systems. This can make it an appealing solution for new playground construction as well as surfacing renovation projects.

For child care centers, preschools, elementary schools, parks, churches, and community playgrounds, RubberBond Elevate provides a commercial surfacing option that addresses much more than appearance. Its combination of impact attenuation, accessibility, durability, customizable design, and installation flexibility makes it a strong solution for creating playground environments built for long-term use.

Commercial-Grade Safety & Durability

RubberBond Elevate is engineered around a two-layer system that allows each layer to serve a specific purpose. The thick loose-rubber base provides shock absorption and impact protection, while the durable EPDM upper layer creates the finished walking and play surface.

The system provides a fall-height rating of up to 16 feet and an HIC rating of 400, with an overall thickness of 5 inches. Because appropriate playground surfacing should correspond with the critical fall heights of the equipment being installed, project-specific requirements should always be reviewed when planning the final surfacing system.

Its long-wearing, fade-resistant top layer is designed for extended use while helping playgrounds maintain their appearance. The ability to install the system over various substrates without requiring concrete or asphalt underneath can also provide greater flexibility when planning new playgrounds or replacing existing surfacing.

Ideal Applications

  • Child care centers and preschools
  • Elementary schools
  • Parks and municipal playgrounds
  • Churches and community organizations
  • High-use commercial playgrounds

RubberBond Elevate offers a smart combination of playground safety, accessibility, durability, and design flexibility. By pairing a shock-absorbing rubber base with a colorful, long-wearing EPDM surface, it provides a commercial playground surfacing solution designed to protect children while creating an attractive and accessible finished play environment.

Footer Options (Varies by Product)

In-Ground Mounting

This is the most common installation method for playground and shade structures. It involves digging holes and setting the posts directly into concrete that is poured during installation.

Surface Mount (Anchor Bolt)

With this method, posts are secured to an existing solid surface—typically concrete—using specialized base plates and anchor bolt hardware provided with the product.

Ground Spike

This is the simplest mounting option, using a sledgehammer to drive stakes through a footer plate to secure the posts in the desired location. Ground spikes are not recommended for sandy or loamy soil conditions and are only available for select product sets.

FAQs

What are the payment requirements for an order?

Full payment is typically required upfront due to the custom nature of many products. Exceptions can be made for governmental entities through approved purchase orders. All payments must be received prior to the start of installation.

Are installation services available?

Installation services are available for commercial playground projects. A qualified and insured professional can be arranged to handle the setup, and quotes are provided upon request. The goal is to ensure a smooth, safe, and efficient installation process from start to finish.

Is expedited shipping an option for my order?

Expedited shipping is not currently available. Due to the size and nature of playground LTL shipments, most freight carriers are unable to guarantee faster delivery. Unless otherwise noted, all products ship according to the estimated lead times listed on each product page.

How is the estimated lead time calculated?

Estimated lead time refers to the amount of time it typically takes for a product to be prepared and shipped after an order is placed. For many commercial playground items, manufacturing begins only once the order is received. For example, if the lead time is listed as 8 to 10 weeks, that means it will take approximately8 to 10 weeks for the product to be manufactured, packaged, and shipped from the warehouse.
